QotD: Your Last Twenty Bucks
List three things you'd buy with your last $20. One practical, one frivolous and one of your choosing.
I'm estimating on prices here, but hoping I could find these items for under $20 total:
(1) PRACTICAL ITEM: Good big towel.
(Everybody knows WHY, and if you don't, go read Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.)
(2) FRIVOLOUS ITEM: Funny socks. I love funny socks.
Someday my kids will be ashamed of me for my socks, but for now, they dig 'em. Socks with doggies on them, or kitties, or tropical fishies, or five-toe glove socks, socks with little barnyard hens and chickies, socks with stripes, socks with polka-dots, socks with flowers, socks for every holiday from Halloween to Easter. I guess I'd splurge on a pair of goofy socks just to keep my spirits up.
(Maybe someday if you're lucky -- or not -- I'll think to take pictures of my feet in various goofy socks and post 'em.)
(3) MY CHOICE: Two big envelopes and enough postage to mail off a manuscript and SASE, and hope they finally buy it, so as to replenish my $$$ supply!

2) $10: 2 packs o' smokes
3) $5.00 'nother pack o' smokes
Wait, wait. Are the smokes the reason I'm down to my last $20? Well, pooh!
1) $5.00: A used copy of Quitting Smoking for Dummies (has that one been written?)
2) $10.00: A third of a box of nicotine gum
3) $5.00: Let's be honest; a pack o' smokes
Can we play this game again after the snow melts?
If those books HAVEN'T been written -- they should be!
;-)
